Because of my epiphany with the Star Trek novels, I've started using "Star Trek" as a verb to describe mass purging of an entire genre, replacing only the few with warm memories electronically. Because I'm on the main drag for the town and because I've got the little free library anyway, I decided to put out extra stock during the town-wide yard sale.
Some of it was LFL stock that hadn't moved or was extra - somehow I'd ended up with three copies of Like Water for Elephants, and The Help doesn't budge anymore.
But some of it was my own stuff. I had thought hard about taking it up to the Book Thing, where I'd get a receipt for taxes, but then the books would be stamped and put out, begging for me to take them back home. So I decided to not just Star Trek but annihilate my entire romance collection. I figured if I put it out front, then I could take whatever was left to the Book Thing.
There's a laugh. The entire box - and I do mean box and all - vanished before breakfast.
In the meantime, tonight is the first night I've had "off" in ages. Will finally catch up with messages and emails...
