For me, Imitrex moves the pain down to my neck/shoulders/collar bones, but it's a lesser, "sore muscle" kind of pain, so it's much preferable to the migraine (which at its worst is needle-in-the-eye pain).
Luckily, my migraines are not too frequent, and the Imitrex makes them a lot more bearable.
