I had a letter published in Starlog, for which several people demanded that I make personal apologies to them for writing. Because the letter hurt their feelings by using the phrase "just a TV show."
One of those demands for an apology came 15 years after the fact, from the husband, because he said it made his wife cry. Most of the people in earshot were like, ".... there's a magazine called Starlog?"
So I'm saying, next time you're running to your wife's defense as she picks up the chair, just don't be doing it over a 15-year-old letter...
