I am, I've been telling people, going through my stuff like Sherman went through Georgia. (
homekeeping has been quite an inspiration!) Many props to M, who has been finding very worthy recipients on freecycle. First it was an overflowing moving box of demin to the girl scouts making quilts for soldiers. Last night two bags of binders, a bag of file folders, and a large bag of assorted report covers, pocket folders, tabs, and binders went to a charity for the homeless. The Rev. Troyer is coming back tonight to pick up a pair of two-drawer file cabinets. That about does it for my purge of the office stuff in the office, but if more comes to light I'm keeping her card and will contact her directly.
It turns out that I'm dumping less software than I thought was so useless as to be outdated; only four packages are either too floppy-centric or too Mac-centric for me to keep. I'm going to miss Ishido. Four others, including the Connections game I always wanted to play but never got around to loading, turn out to be on CD and to have Windows versions. (Now here's hoping that Windows 2000 can still run software that asks for Windows 3.1 at a minimum. I'm assuming so.)
I may not use them still - I've had Adobe Acrobat, Connections, and Dragon Naturally Speaking for a few years now without loading them, but I'm getting rid of so much so quickly that I think I'm permitted to hang onto a couple of things for later!
There was a box of "things I don't know what to do with" that I shoved under the eves a couple of years ago, and fished out over the weekend. If I'm sensible, I'll send it straight to the trash without looking inside...
Also, it's too late for PF raffle donations, but I need to talk to whoever's doing MSFB... I'm thinking that a group of the new-in-box Pampered Chef stuff might make a decent raffle prize.
