Ooo... I know you probably prefer proper Bollywood movies but have you seen Mistress of Spices? I only ask because your mention of B&P reminded me of the film. Some of the reviews I've seen claim it tackles Indian immigration to the US with some subtlety and... I can't quite imagine it. In case you don't know the book, it's not wholly dissimilar to Chocolat. /random questioning
