They came! The carbonless Shore Leave forms came in plenty of time!
Okay, I am officially pathetic, bouncing around over paperwork. Maybe the forms are making me a little high, because those suckers have to off gas something fierce.
They're not as prettily laid out as the paperwork was by previous Masq chairs, and I know at least three quibbles that I'm going to get from various people. But they'll work. They're similar enough to the previous forms that people won't be all "wha-?" They have all the info necessary, including some questions that nobody thought to ask before. ("Will you have trouble seeing/moving/going up stairs? Will you leave props onstage?")
And most importantly, Shore Leave is officially released from needing a photocopier for the Masq. Nobody has to pay the hotel's price. Nobody has to leave site. Right now, even if a tribe of crazed rabid lemmings bursts in and eats both my computer and Tish's printer, we can go to stage with a combination of the blank judging forms that I'll preprint this weekend (in case of disabling lemming attack), these carbonless forms, and a notebook and a pen.
(The big deal, in case anyone other than me gives a rodent's rump, is the combined entry/tech form. It has all the basic information about the costume and the technical cues. Until now, such things were photocopied about 3 times - for the tech crew, for the MC, for and for the director. Now there's one 3-copy carbonless form: 2 for tech crew, 1 for director, and the MC gets a tailored form if the dbase works. If it doesn't, tech gets one copy and the MC gets the other. Either way - covered!)
And since the minimum order was 250 forms, Shore Leave is set for paperwork for the next 5 or 6 cons.
I'm so happy that even realizing that I've gotten little dots of brown salad dressing all over my white blouse is not depressing me. Yay!!! The last big thing I worried about but couldn't control is done! Whooo!
