When I went for jury duty last year, I took a sock on size 1 needles, a pair of mittens on size 3 needles, and a hat on size 6 circs (all bamboo), and the security guard didn't even bat an eye. I figured that even if they wouldn't let me bring in the hat or the mittens, surely they'd let me in with the toothpick-sized needles. As it turned out, they didn't care. I also took two books and a notebook/pen combo.
