Mulder is home. He's dopey(ier than usual), seeping a bit (!)... and purring so loudly that you can hear him two feet away. He should pull through fine, although we've tried to sequester him upstairs so he is away from the rough and tumble of the other cats.

Mind you, Gytha's so tiny that she's already wedged herself though the child gate once to see him...

Whew! Glad to hear it. What did he manage to eat that got stuck, anyway?

An unravelled yarn ball. (Cat sized toy, not an entire knitting project) Some of it came out, one way or another, but some of it was just knotting up.

Poor baby! Sometimes you have to wonder what happened to our domestic animals' survival instincts.

"Look! A fuzzy string with no meat, pleasant taste, or nutritional value whatsoever! I think I'll eat it!"

And why did he decide to do so *now* when he's seen string all his life?

You named one of your cats Gytha? Oh, Nanny Ogg would like that!

She expects us to serve her every need, and she's so excited about food she vibrates. What else could I name her?

Give him a gentle cuddle for me. I expect I'll see him soon.

Could be worse. A friend's dog ate such things as Christmas tree lightbulbs and an entire bottle of the other dog's thyroid pills (and it took three doses of emetic to make her give it up).

Mo's gonna call about help; we're gonna need it.

Gytha was probably worried that he had been abducted by aliens! Obviously that strange cone-like neckpiece he's wearing is not of earth origin!

It's odd. When he's gone, she shows no indication of noticing or caring, but when he's back, she fights to see him right away.

Sounds like a variant on the "Nobody beats up my kid brother... except me" syndrome.

As for alien abduction, I saw a cartoon that described a cat's trip to the vet exactly that way, including the anal probe. How else are they supposed to interpret it?

Mulder beats up on Gytha mostly - she's paying a bit for being the smallest cat in the house. While the vets described him as roly-poly, which is true enough!

So that explains all the alien abductions... vet checks at the wildlife sanctuary!

Mulder is lying on a towel (his incision is still seeping) on the table right next to me, purring madly while I pet him with one hand while typing with the other. My heart melts! Poor baby tried to jump up on my bed and couldn't - the healing is going to take a little while...

Glad he's home. And I have this vision of Gytha planning and mounting her visitation operation with meticulous precision... :D

She seems to have been foiled by the third configuration of the child gate and other blocking bars... maybe.

He does seem to be running through his lives at an unusually high rate. Glad he's doing okay!

Oh, gosh! I'm so glad he's doing okay! It does sound like he's going to be your drama queen--we had a cat who went through at least 14 lives--some of them *do* get extras!
