Because I just worked it out for myself and wrote it in my calendar, the reading schedule and dates for the readalong, including links to the online annotated .pdfs provided by Stanford U, where available:

I'm following the pub dates for the short stories, NOT the pub date for the collections they ended up in!

Feb 5: Last two chapters of Study in Scarlet and A Scandal in Bohemia (Yeah, this is slightly off track, but I didn't want to start with just one chapter of a new novel)

Feb 12 - March 5: The Sign of the 4, 3 chapters at a time. Some Saturday posts may be combined, as I'll be at Gally.

March 12: The Red-headed League, A Case of Identity, The Boscombe Valley Mystery

March 19: The Five Orange Pips, The Man with the Twisted Lip, The Blue Carbuncle

March 26: The Speckled Band, The Engineer's Thumb, The Noble Bachelor, 1892

April 2: The Beryl Coronet, The Copper Beeches, Silver Blaze

April 9: The Cardboard Box, The Yellow Face, The Stock-Broker's Clerk (Cardboard is from a different collection, but the stories were written in this order.)

April 16: The "Gloria Scott", The Musgrave Ritual, The Reigate Puzzle (both at link)

April 24: The Crooked Man, The Resident Patient, The Greek Interpreter

April 30: only two this week The Naval Treaty, The Final Problem

May 7 - June 4: The Hound of the Baskervilles, 3 chapters at a time

June 11: (which is also Knit In Public Day) The Empty House, The Norwood Builder, The Dancing Men

June 18: The Solitary Cyclist, The Priory School, The Adventure of Black Peter

June 25: Charles Augustus Milverton, The Six Napoleons, The Three Students

July 2: The Golden Pince-Nez, The Missing Three-Quarter, The Abbey Grange

July 9: The Second Stain, The Adventure of Wisteria Lodge, Ch I. The Singular Experience of Mr.... Ch II. The Tiger of San Pedro

July 16: The Bruce-Partington Plans, The Devil's Foot, The Red Circle

July 24: Lady Frances Carfax, The Dying Detective no third story this week

July 30 - August 27: The Valley of Fear

September 3: His Last Bow>, The Mazarin Stone no third story this week

September 10: The Problem of Thor Bridge, The Creeping Man, The Sussex Vampire

September 17: The Three Garridebs, The Illustrious Client, The Blanched Soldier

September 24: The Retired Colourman, The Three Gables, The Lion's Mane

October 1: The Veiled Lodger, Shoscombe Old Place

And we're done! Hopefully in time for Sherlock S2 - certainly in time for the November/December holidays.

Geeze, that's a lot of reading when laid out like that. And yet it's really nicely spread out...

I did the math in January and realized that at three stories/chapters a week, it worked out rather nicely. It could possibly have been reduced to two a week, but that stretched things out a bit much when reading the novels, IMO.

If you don't mind me joining in...

Audio books are lovely during commutes. I've been enjoying The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes I read by David Timson (http://www.worldcat.org/title/adventures-of-sherlock-holmes-i-sir-arthur-conan-doyle-read-by-david-timson/oclc/635845567&referer=brief_results). Mr. Timson uses lots of different voices for various characters and does a good job.

I LOVE audiobooks! I've got the Clive Merrison audio play adaptations, but the local library hasn't been so forthcoming with unabridged versions. I'll have to look for David Timson.
