My insurance's adjuster has seen car. Technician will see to phone line (still out) "Before 7pm on 9/10." Refuse to even think about mystery puddle in basement until it reappears some day when there isn't a hurricane or the remains thereof.

(We first found a mystery puddle after Irene. Threw a towel on it, it went away, didn't think twice. Now it's back in the same place, but the rain has been so bad that roads are flooded out all over the area (I had to try three routes to get home because two were blocked.) So frankly? I'm not even *thinking* about that puddle unless I see it again when it isn't monsoon season.)

I was going to go to knit night, but between the flooding and the fact that I hear thunder, I'm staying at home and chilling out. Besides, I haven't read LJ in 2 days; time to catch up on my Sherlock porn friends.

Wow, you might not have the phone repaired until 9/10? That's awful.

I agree, if that puddle is not threatening anything in your basement, ignore it and hope that it goes away.

The rain today was torrential. Have you seen any of the photos/video of Ellicott City? They evacuated the main street shopping area due to flash flooding. The street was a river. Incredible.

I hadn't seen - just the thought is scary! Wow.

The cell is working, so I can be contacted. I just hope that nobody's trying to call me over any of the *other* issues I've got going on right now...

If you're in a hurricane, it's pretty much a given that something is gonna leak. It does not necessarily have to be something that would ever consider leaking under more sane conditions.

Yeah, we've had two extreme rain events in succession, and I wouldn't worry unless it puddles after a normal rain.

That's my opinion. Won't worry, but will check after normal rain... If we ever get that!

In the meantime - the phone's fixed!
