The State of the Nea

For anyone who cares, I've given up my spot on the tea. I hope the person on the wait list enjoys it and I asked to be on the list for the next one. All is not drudgery, though - on Saturday I'm treating myself to a specialty market and the concert version of Boys from Syracuse (which I've never seen in any version.)

Am trying to apply the "don't feel guilt" precept to the fact that I had originally planned on offering to do a clinic shift on Saturday morning, it being the final day of 40 Days of Life. I have rationalized this as the market only being open a few times a year, whereas the clinic needs me every week... and besides, I found out a couple weeks ago that Eeyore was hit by a car (!!) and is laid up with a badly broken leg. As she is our only major nutball, the remaining group, although large and particularly sign-y, prayed quietly in peace.

I'm sure Eeyore has some explanation as to why her god broke her leg.... You can just be glad of the relative peace and quiet for a while.

I'm positive that she thinks that it was Satan preventing her valuable work.

But the peace is a nice thing.

Of course that would imply that she thinks Satan has more power to prevent her valuable work than her god has to enable it... but a lot of them do seem to think that way. At least atheism seems to be logically consistent.

We've laughed in her face. Mostly after she started screaming "You're killing yourself with high fructose corn syrup!" Eeyore has the special sanity.

I'm sure that was the right decision, but obviously only you can make it! And your plans for Saturday sound like an excellent choice.

It's the decisions that are equally weighted that are the hardest to make. If there weren't other things also going on that weekend, I'd've gone, but...

And Eeyore tends to make people go "..." a lot!
