The water is out in the neighborhood, as the water main (inconveniently located at the bottom of my driveway) has burst. They're still out there, but I heard *something* gurgling in the pipes and went down to the basement to take a look at the plumbing.

The gurgling wasn't so bad, but I was really worried about the sound of water spraying I heard in an area where there weren't any pipes.

... then I realized I was standing over an occupied litter box.

Lols. My cat's litter box is next to the cupboard where the water enters the house and I've done the same thing. It's quite a noise, especially since he considers it the polite thing to do to move the litter out of the way so he can wee on an empty bit of tray with great force..

I have to laugh. Um...yeah, that sound, I know it well - but never well enough to identify it immediately when there are other watery sounds also going on, which causes great concern followed by copious amounts of eye-rolling.
