Because I have access to mail post but not my inbox at the moment: I am still planning on driving, still planning on taking duckyone, and still planning on crashing at hhertzof's place on Friday and Saturday nights. I'm starting to figure out the precise details today & will be emailing y'all.

I had a feeling I wouldn't be able to leave the decision until Friday. I think I'm going to go ahead and sign up. If things change on Friday, I'll be out $45, but on the other hand I'm feeling so burnt out right now that I could use that sort of break. Now to figure out what I want to eat.

ETA: I just looked at a map. I hadn't realized how close we'll be to the Niantic Book Barn. Not to lure anyone into spending more money or anything, but it is an amazing used book store, should we choose to make a detour before or after (it's open 9-9). Please note that this is an FYI, not a "I'm not coming with you unless we stop there."

Also, I have now paid, so barring bunny complications, I am coming with you.

Let's see how tired we (I) am after the trip up. (After the horrors of getting to NC, I want to make sure we reach CT with plenty of extra time.)

We found a great used bookstore in the town just across the river from Gillette Castle, but that was in 1987-- no idea of the name, the exact location, or if it's still there. But if you happen to find yourself in that area, have a look. We found it randomly.

The bookstore doesn't require reservations and it might be a good way to kill time if we get up there way too early. Usually the worst traffic is at Stamford, Norwalk and New Haven, but not at the time of day we'll be passing through - Friday night and Sunday afternoon can get really bad. I go up to the bookstore about 3 or 4 times a year, and to intermediate points much more frequently.
