I will probably be wending to bed very shortly - it's been an exhausting weekend after an exhausting week. In a good way - I had a long and enjoyable discussion after my presentation at Watson's Tin Box on Monday and the fabulous scavenger hunt... but the first good night's sleep I got was Saturday night because I'd worn myself out. I've discovered that the more desperately necessary it is for me to get sleep, the more likely I'll have terrible insomnia. *sigh*
Was raving about the scavenger hunt to a friend at work. She suggested that I tell SherlockDC that I'll help do one, pointing out that the Smithsonian would very likely not only support such a concept, but help out. "You could do one for each museum" she said. And I probably could, but that's an idea that can wait until I get the house renovations done.
There will be a rec post by the end of the week; the linkdump is getting big. There's a lot of variety going on right now in the holmesverse -- not just preliminary Elementary fic is showing up, but I've seen a Without a Clue fic and just now dropped a Basil of Baker Street/Great Mouse Detective link into the dump. (Casefic, even!)
On the kitten front, both Idris and Mulan have taken to giving heartrending cries of distress at various times. Not because they're actually in trouble - Mulan, for instance, sits under the plant she wants to destroy and mourns her inability to reach it. Idris goes into her act in the kitchen, even when the food the humans are dealing with has nothing to do with cats. They've sounded *so* horrible that one night Gytha got all concerned and went to sniff them to see if they were okay. Mulan, who has gotten over her fright of everything and is turning into a slight brat, bopped Gytha on the nose for it.
I've logged one afghan block aka dishcloth into Ravelry for my Ravellenic Games piece and went back to knitting for pleasure at my own pace. It's a quick pace these days - I'm learning the joys of the simple garter/stockinette line design. I can whip one of those out in record time. (It's a lot like the old ASCII art you'd do on typewriters; the ones where you'd get a list of instructions to type 15 @s followed by 16 *s and see what picture developed.) Although there are plenty of Doctor Who designs - I now want my bathroom to contain lots of cloths that say "Don't blink" - there is a sad dearth of Sherlock Holmes designs, either canonical or BBC. Give me some graph paper and time, and I intend to do something about that.
