Vintage Hair

Needs must when the devil drives, so last night I got all my hair cut off. (You'd be surprised at how often you brush the backs of your fingers when you braid your hair, or even when you wrap in a ponytail elastic. And up to Saturday night, I would have told you I was still growing it out after a shorter-than-normal cut in the summer!)
It's not a bad or unflattering haircut and I ought to know; I had the exact same one 20+ years ago. It's that very short layered bob that was so popular in the early 80s. I see myself in the mirror and think I should be wearing a navy blue skirt suit with a baby blue or white blouse that has a floppy bow at the neck.
Still, it's out of my face, takes no fussing, and I can care for it one-handed, which are the main points at the moment. Very disconcerting to brush, though - I'm barely started and I suddenly run out of it!

Date: 2013-01-29 10:57 pm (UTC)It's going to be faster to do - I was startled to see that it made almost a 10-minute difference not to undo the braids, then comb, then brush them out. And it's out of my face. And I don't have to figure out how to deal with the ponytail and my coat (inside? Outside?)
I was trying to work my way back to bra strap - couple more inches and I'd've been there - but I may keep this for a while. Fortunately the stylist is at the hair cuttery, so while I will be going more often if I keep it short, I won't be paying La Styling Salon prices, nor going across town.
