Aspartame has been renamed "AminoSweet" and now will be marketed as a "natural sweetener." I doubt that the bodies of all the people it makes sick (including me) will be fooled.

Just read an article about caffeine being added to everything from candy to waffles (!). I already had to learn which brands of root beer and orange soda to avoid if I don't want gut cramps etc. and was fooled by a granola-type bar-- now I know that "energy" on the label means caffeine.

As if looking for non-vegetarian content wasn't enough. Even a brand of fruit juice used to use all-natural coloring made from beetles (cochineal or carmine).

On the other hand, my dear friend Michael, who once worked in advertising, laughed when he saw me reading a label. "You don't think they print the truth on those things, do you?"
