As the fall yarns come in and people cast on for the holidays -- is anyone willing to knit a Flatmate scarf or Scarf of Shadows (or both!) in a non-wool yarn as a prize for Scintillation of Scions?

Um, yeah, sure, possibly, but what is a Flatmate scarf or a Scarf of Shadows?

The Flatmate Scarf is based off of one of John's sweaters in BBC's Sherlock:

The Scarf of Shadows is based off of Watson's scarf in the Holmes movie Game of Shadows:

I'm thinking of a "warm up with Watson" raffle prize for Scintillation of Scions, the annual Holmesian symposium.

I can try either, although I don't know if I have the correct yarn for either. If you were to point me to a source...?

(I guess this means I should learn how to read patterns, instead of working it out from what I see on the screen, huh.)

The scarf of shadows is pretty much just ribbing.

I recommend berocco's Remix, available at yarn.com and most knitting stores; it's warm, easy on the needles, and contains no allergins. It also has all the colors for either scarf.
