I am going to be wearing a crapload of grey sweaters this winter. This is on account of my having just bought a crapload of grey sweaters at a thrift store. On the other hand, I bought them all, plus a bunch of chenille socks* and some other things at a thrift store, which means I got everything for under the price of two LL Bean shirts I was agonizing over buying. I need winter tops - I'm already at "it must be Tuesday, she's wearing the red and black striped one" - but I also need to pay down the cards** and the short paychecks are hitting.
*Either I wear them or they become swiffer covers. I'm told chenille socks make fabulous swiffer covers.
**I went with the "kill AmEx entirely" option, in case anyone's interested, and unless the paycheck's too short, I'll be able to clear off the Little Visa and drop the House Visa down to a round number. The upside - if I get through all this, I'll be able to clear all my card and loan debt in about 14-15 months. The downside - I'm spending more time worrying about money than I have in ages, and if they shut the government again, I'm going to be in extremely bad shape.
And that's not counting the rest of the ripples spreading out from the furlough...
