trollprincess has his number good: So far, he's shown every indication of being one of the terrifying cult leaders who ends up convincing a bunch of people to drink the Kool-Aid before swallowing the barrel of a .45. He's persuasive. He's calm. He gives off this knowledgable aura that just makes people want to trail after him like lost puppies. And look who he's used it on so far. The prime examples are Charlie and Boone, both of whom when they were at their most weak-minded. It's getting to the point where Locke's gone beyond helping them and moved into scarier territory.
On the other hand, Jin and Hurley were comedy gold. I can just imagine the actors collapsing in puddles of hysterical laughter the minute the director called "CUT!"
