So, I've been talking about all the 5Ks I want to run later in the year, but none were open for signup yet. Until Run Like a Diva right in my (relatively speaking) back yard in September. http://www.runlikeadiva.com/Events/Divas__Half_Marathon___5K_-_DC_s_Wine_Country.htm

Only... I was to be part of a trip to England that left that very race night. I don't want to miss any time in England.

On the other hand,I don't want to miss this race either, though. I can sign up for this 5K right away and not only does it punch my "it's so silly It Must Be Done!" button, it would give me a concrete race to start training for. And it's not like it's England Or Nothing; the rest of my party will be in London, it's not like it would be hard for me to catch up the next day.

Have a look for a 5k run that you can do in England?

There are several. Park Run is all over England like a rash, but it's bare bones. The temptation of the Diva run is that the sheer silliness is tempting - I like to have the "fun" in my fun run.

Is the Diva run one of the ones that is annual?

I don't know. They're big enough to run multiple runs a year all over, but I just found out about them so I don't know if they move around or not.

The one in NY is right out - that would mean leaving England several days early and that is Not Happening. The others this year would all mean travel expenses.
