Everyone seems to be doing it, so:

10 Things I've Done That Y'all Might Not Have

1. Escaped from a castle in Germany at dawn.

6. Seen snow falling on Chartres Cathedral.
7. Been a teaching assistant at a university.
8. Taught archery.
9. Eaten fried pumpkin leaves.
10. Won ribbons at horse shows.

escaped? (1)
what classes? (7)
what for? (10 -- I did it for horsemanship and calf-roping, but that was centuries ago in my case. Haven't been on a horse in 20 years).

Escaped. It was a locked youth hostel at the time, but still, a castle at dawn, a locked door, and an unlocked window. And a hell of a drop, because we didn't see the gully right under said window!

Writing for multimedia, Web servers 101. George Washington University CCE.

Pleasure over Fences is the one I remember, I know there was one other. I've passed 20 years horseless (wah!) but my high school had a riding team.

that's a castle at dawn for sure. Betcha the gully was why the window was unlocked...

Your TA classes sound more interesting than mine. (Classical Greek History -- University of Virginia). Teaching was much better than being a TA, but still paid for squat, which is why ah is a technikal writer.

Didn't think there was such thing as pleasure over fences. Been dumped enough out of a saddle, never occurred to me to encourage the effort. (yes, I'm a wuss.)

It's been a long time, but IIRC, Pleasure Over Fences was a jumping competition with pleasure horses instead of hunters.

And he gives GOOD hug, too!

This was quite some time ago, at Shore Leave. We were supposed to have one of the main Scooby Gang as a guest, but he cancelled at the last minute. James Marsters was able to sub.

I worked tech staff at the time, which gave me the slight privilege of standing right by the door where the guests entered and exited. When he came offstage on Sunday, I leaned over and told him "Normally I wouldn't be here today, but I came back to see you." And he said "Awww!" and hugged me.

That man is such a sweetie!

You'll probably share TA-ing with several of your readers. Fried pumpkin leaves? They're edible? What do they taste like?

Very delicate potato chips. Light & salty.

It does for your list.

You taught archery? Where? I was at a resort in Lake George called Silverbay.
