March 8. Go in for regular oil change. They find leak; valves replaced.
March 10. Alternator blows. Replaced, along with serpentine belt.
March 17. Engine running hot & coolant light blinking. Tell Mr. Tire people that they're lovely & all, but must get through a month without seeing them. They top off coolant for free. Engine happy. So am I, figuring that I can now stop dealing with car until I save up to replace suspension later.
March 29. Am leaving bank when a truck backs up into me, crushing hood.
ETA: I am okay, if you overlook the twitch. (I must have looked like death at at the scene, both the guy who hit me and the witness kept petting my arm reassuringly.) The car... moves. It needs a new hood and a new headlight mount and I'm not sure what else, but it's driveable.

Date: 2005-03-30 12:59 am (UTC)I hope the truck driver/company is well enough insured to replace your car.
(Obviously all those repairs were pre-caused by the accident as it's effects rippled back through time. Yeah, that's it, definately the trucks fault!)
Hope you're ok, pay close attention to your body the next week, any unexplained aches, get right into a dr!

Date: 2005-03-30 01:44 am (UTC)Time travel! Of course! It was all part of the truck's cunning plan!
I was almost at a standstill (I saw him moving, and hit the brakes; he never saw me), he was backing out at less than 10 miles per hour. While shaken up, I'm okay. The airbags didn't even blow.
(Mind you, one of my knees has been wrong since I fell weeks ago, but that's been one of those "I'm not in pain so I'm not going to check because I don't want to know" deals. Since I have arthritic knees, numb is actually an improvement. But I digress.)
