Non-specific comment on last night's House

I spent the whole episode going "don't go there, don't go there" and they went there. I'm so pissed you can't believe - and I'm not talking about the A story.

And while I'm bitching about things, Orson Scott Card? You, sir, are an ass. Also, a little fuzzy on both the history of media SF and Sturgeon's Law.

Yes, Card is an ass -- I've thought so for a while. He's just painting it red and purple in stripes at the moment and adding a 'Kick Me' sign.

Frankly, that whole rant sounded a lot like my parents to me. Whenever they hated a guy I was dating (which was most of the time), they'd lose no opportunity to bad-mouth him to me. Then when I lost interest in him for reasons of my own, they'd be all, "Oh, we're so glad you finally listened to us!"

Similarly, I suspect that Card has always hated Trek, and is now taking the chance to rewrite history so that he can win. Pathetic.
