I'd just like to say that I hate popup blockers, because they cause as many problems as they solve. Due to some change in either WebAOL or the work scanner (or both), I can barely read my mail and I can't pop up a window to answer mail to save my life.

On the other hand, the popups when I went to read Chickweed Lane proliferated as normal. Grrrrr!

To have something useful in this ranting, I'm still loving The History of English. As a supplement to the supplement, while I was looking for an Old English Bible online, I found The Polyglot Bible. It's only the book of Luke, but you can do side-by-side comparisons of Early, Middle, Early Modern & Late Modern English, plus 26 other languages.

I also note with interest for the missionary project (haven't forgotten the missionary project!) that Amazon has listed a Hawaiian bible. They don't say if it's both testaments or not, and that's critical. The missionaries might have called themselves Christian, but their outlook on life was pretty Old Testament, and so far they're citing far more OT verses than NT ones in their diaries and letters.

Had you seen this article on Hawaiian bibles?

No, how interesting!

I don't *need* a Hawaiian Bible for the project - by the time that Thomas & Lucia left, they hadn't even managed to finish the Hawaiian alphabet, much less translated the Bible. But what I'd love to do is to start each chapter with an appropriate Biblical quote... in Hawaiian.
