Oct. 9th, 2004 03:51 pmThank you everyone who has sent public and private wishes. I've been able to talk to Dad, who sounds pretty upbeat. The early doctorial betting is insulinoma, which I now have to look up. It's tricky and it's not good - but it's not a death sentence. Would any of y'all know a really good endochrinologist?
Like the rest of the family, I can handle things pretty well as long as there's a plan. Plan for Dad: Call daily and look into specialists. So that leaves plan for me - keep myself busy cleaning up around the house, to 1) distract myself and 2) beat back entropy in case I do have to boogie off to the parental bedside at a moment's notice.
Am I very shallow if one of those tasks was setting up the region-free DVD player and having a Randall and Hopkirkathon running in the background?
