Resolution epiphany
Jan. 3rd, 2005 10:08 amLong story short - I've started carrying a pocket calendar specifically so I can keep a 365-day to-do list. On the back page, I wrote my main NY Resolutions - not the specific details such as "read this book and that book for the missionaries" but "Missionary books - read."
I just counted. There are 11 main points in my Resolution to-do list. There are 12 months in a year. So I guess 2005 is going to be the year of the "Theme Month". First up: the project I've wanted to do since last year, and is particularly timely in view of my wish to lose weight & eat more healthily: The Cookbook Project.
This has two parts:
1) To reduce my disorganized 5-shelf cookbook case to 3 organized shelves
2) To create a personal cookbook of favorites. This is probably going to actually spawn two cookbooks: the one I use generally and the one for special events foods.
In practice, this will mean sorting my cookbooks into "keep this" and "keep this?" the latter being marked so I can test recipes. Keeper recipes will be dumped into a folder to be typed up at the end of the month.
