Spoilery comments on Batman Begins )

Have been musing about something I was asked this morning - how I got so much done. I doubt that I'm a model of efficiency - those who know me will tell how hair-tearingly frustrated they get in that long lag between when I plan on dealing with something and when I finally get around to it - but there is something that's keeping me chugging through the resolutions. Two things, actually:

1) Make sure that there's stuff you *want* to do on the things-to-do list. Mine has crafts I want to explore, books I want to read, thing I enjoy doing. That sure helps motivate.

2) Never an unused moment. This is where "things you want to do" becomes critical, really. When I'm online, I'm watching TV or my backlog of DVDs. When I wanted to sit around and relax reading, I picked TBR books to bring the number down. When I'm in meetings or games, I'm also sewing. When I'm at lunch, I'm reading review books. When I'm between deadlines, I'm listening to Teaching Center courses. Etc.

Am I maximizing my time in the manner of those really type A time management people? Probably not. But I'm slowly and steadily chugging through things that have hung fire for ages, things that probably would never have gotten done before I started looking at my time this way.
