Bitch, moan, whine
May. 13th, 2008 10:19 pmBugger, bugger, bugger. Am just now reading LJ, 19 minutes after I wanted to go to bed. Well, at least I have 4 overdue book reviews in. Next up, writing the overdue Firefox news articles and an essay on "How to Go to a Convention Without Going Broke," first in a "so this is your first con?" articles, because trust me, you can't do anything else w/out money management.
I'm getting out of work an hour earlier, how do I always end up behind?
On the other hand, since LJ is full of several folks on my flist are very unhappy, often with other folks on my flist, it's possibly better to be offline. Call me Switzerland; if y'all are on my friends list, it's because I like what you write, and not that I agree with you 100% or possibly even up to 50% of the time, but I value what you have to say. Someday I shall stop living in the fantasy that everyone around me will get along presumably just because I'm in the picture. I'm not usually delusional, but that's a big blind spot that catches me every time.
Apparently Moonlighting is canceled. As I thought it was crap, my only wonder is if Sophia will get back together with David, because I thought they were an adorable couple. And maybe she can help him with his American accent, because it's not as good as he thinks.
Have seen trailer for American Life on Mars. Now must spork eyes out. America is excellent for many things, but remaking shows is NOT ONE OF THEM. Subtlety, thy name is not Los Angeles.
Firefox is moving into social networking
Have miscalculated on knitting projects. There's Roma, that's the one that's more than just garter. But the log cabin project is going to be too involved for travel projects, things where I don't want to carry more than a skein and short needles. Don't know what the travel project should be. Need to find out before I travel to NYC. (Guys, where are we going to meet? I suggest the Met, at 10:30ish, Amtrak and subway willing, but one of y'all doesn't know what we look like and vice versa)
speaking of knitting, trying to figure out what's up with the BBC and knitting. First it was that one person's site, and I could see both sides of it - she's doing fan art, but she's also doing her stuff so fast that the Beeb doesn't have time to even get theirs to market. Now it looks like Extermaknit is gone, and that I flat-out don't understand because that's been up for a while now. They *must* have known and they turned a blind eye. So why is it nuked now, and nuked so thoroughly that even Wayback can't get it?
Dudes, all y'all are doing is setting up a black market for everyone who downloaded/printed the files when they were available.
