I'm caught in an endless loop of glasses problems. My old glasses are significantly out of date, but they're adjusted correctly. (I have a really complex lens, with prisms and bifocals and all sorts of things.) I can't afford new "daily" glasses until next paycheck, but I did spring for character glasses because one of the local cheapo eye places was having a major sale. Those give me much clearer vision... but I can't get them adjusted properly to the sweet spot. So I put on the new ones, can see almost perfectly except for a sudden loss of peripheral vision, take them off to twist them a bit, put them on, take them off, twiddle some more, get frustrated, put on the old ones, notice the major difference in vision, take them off and put on the new ones...

Feh. How do you keep an idiot occupied? Write "how do you keep an idiot occupied; see over" on both sides of a page. Do I go downtown to the good eyeglass place and get these adjusted by someone who *really* knows his job, then go down *again* when I'm paid to order the daily ones? Or do I live with the old ones (or this lens-based rotisserie of the nose) until I get paid and spare myself the extra trip?

G.O. Organize Score: 84 of 100 (about where I'm expecting it to average)

I'm going to have to give up on the new adaptation of Emma. The main actress has neither charm nor charisma, and without either Emma's character grates.

On the other hand, this adaptation captures the pain of Miss Bates rather brilliantly.
