Someday I shall make an "Earworms that Aren't in English" CD to exercise to. I adore "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" and "He Mele No Lilo" from Lilo and Stitch, and now "Chaiyya Chaiyya" from Bombay Dreams has me hypnotized.

I haven't seen or listened to Bombay Dreams, but Chaiyya Chaiyya is originally from Dil Se, and is very earwormy. Also try You are my Soniya from Kabhie Kushie Khabie Gam (which has minimal English) and Mahi Veh from Kal Ho Na Ho.

I'm not sure it's the same Chaiyya Chaiyya, unless the Really Useful Group snatched up the rights; there's nothing on the CD that suggests that someone else holds copyright on that one, and Webber is cautious about such things.

Someday, you shall have to come within range of my CD burner to my place and we'll have a Bollyfest of suggestions. I'm quite serious about making that tape. (And there's some Hawaiian stuff you really ought to check out.)

It is definitely the same song, because A.R Rahman did the music for both, and the idea for the Bombay Dreams musical supposedly came about after someone saw the Chaiyya Chaiyya picturization in Dil Se.
