He Announces, I React
Mar. 23rd, 2015 11:56 amI'm trying to tone down the politics on this blog, but sometimes, I just have to get a comment or two off my chest.
Right now, I've got to at least note at least a few of the burning tone-deaf hypocrisies in Ted Cruz running for President. Like how one can "Take back the Constitution" by announcing a Presidential campaign at a religious college in defiance of the First Amendment. Like how shutting the government down apparently makes you qualified to lead it. Like going on record saying only "corageous conservatives" "love liberty" and assuming that the non-conservatives won't take massive offense come time to pull the voting lever. We remember these things come the general election, Teddy darlin'.
In a way, I do look forward to this campaign, for two reasons. First, the faster he crashes and burns out of politics, the healthier the country will be. Even Gingrich knew better than to try to halt the government a second time, but Cruz seems ever eager to throw more people out of work to prove how much he appreciates the common workers.
But more than that, second, I intend to make a LOT of popcorn and find out how it is that a man born in Canada totally counts as a natural-born citizen because his mother's American, while another man born on American soil to an American mother remains a commie fascist muslim ringer. I do SO hope that the Daily Show gets a few shots in about that before Jon Stewart leaves.
