Oh, that's the one you keep alluding to! Yeah, I'll agree that's not a realistic heroine; "realistic", in this case, would be in the hospital, or dead. Food allergies are nothing to mess with!
Her response was to simply not eat. She'd take the food hubby packed her and throw it away, then hide what she got to replace it. When he ordered for her in restaurants, she'd just push it around the plate.
That whole allergy thing was what bugged me the most. We were supposed to see it as funny - she doesn't even like the stuff her fiance grows! - but I simply cannot imagine anyone having so little self-interest (much less self-respect) to not be able to keep the guy who loves her from poisoning her!
