Another drive-by comment: Time of The Daleks isn't proving to be a particularly interesting audio play, but so far it's been worth it just to hear Daleks reciting Shakespeare.

Now-is-the-ver-ry-witch-ing-hour...

And one minor bitchy grumble. I've just got the Doctor Who and Brisco County DVDs. Is it really wrong to wish that I could just watch and knit for a weekend? A week?

After you do your mile and a half walk, right? :)

I'll have to get the Brisco County sometime soon. I am still enjoying the aftermath of the Kingdom of Heaven director's cut, and the informative documentaries on the Gladiator director cut DVDs.

I'm going to have to start walking next week in order to not keel over from a cardiac in London and Cardiff. And my mother is talking about the next family vacation being an "adventure" one, ugh.

But right now, I just want a weekend or two with nothing written on the to-do list...

Um....what means this word "wrong"? Wishing is, well, wishing. And knitting is therapy.

The wrong coming in where I'm tempted to tell people that I'm not available when I technically am, because for a little while I want to just go to ground.

And again...where is the "wrong"? Tell people you have other plans. You get to do that, you know, just go to ground and make plans with yourself, your needles, and your DVDs. *hugs*

Unfortunately, in the cases I'm thinking of, I'm kind of needed. But after that, I will have very pressing dates with Chris Eccleston and Bruce Campbell and a pair of Brittney needles...

I LOVE THOSE NEEDLES!!!!

Well, except for the fact that the decorated end is a bit sharp, and I am in capable of holding both needles at once so stand one straight up in my lap in addition to knitting like a European and holding my yarn in my left instead of right hand.

I'm looking more and more forward to ChiTARDIS. I must figure out what part of it to do/not do, how to get together with folks, etc.

Lantern Moons are my absolute favorite but 1) they're bloody expensive compared to Brittneys and 2) I've already broken one, so I'm less likely to use them when I travel. The Brits, on the other hand, are just the right length to deal with the Dr. Who scarf without overwhelming me by being too long.

Right now my plan is to do a one-day at ChiTARDIS from opening Saturday until I drop or it stops, although I will hopefully have the scarf on my neck instead of my needles!

Actually, I'm backing slowly out of one set of plans, since it looks like I'm not going to be that needed after all. And I really need the detox time.

Ah. So you and Mr. Eccleston or Mr. Tennent will be accepting visitors on Sunday?

Maybe.

Yes, I think we shall be. Got some great new music vids to show you too, if you were following the discussion of yesterday.

Daleks... reciting Shakespeare.

Who is the artist behind this idea of cracktastic genius?

Date: 2006-07-20 04:27 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] neadods.livejournal.com
The script was by Justin Richards (which explains its extreme prosaic-ness) and it was directed by Nick Briggs, who is the main Dalek voice these days (which is why it is so utterly cracktastic.)

Briggs had to have had the time of his life grinding once-more-in-to-the-breech and bits of Hamlet & Richard III into the voice box.

I don't think I will ever be able to get over the concept of Daleks reciting Shakespeare. Seriously.

But that would involve, you know, spending money.

You have no idea what a shining goal this is, to just laze about the house wearing whatever, watching TV and knitting. A low goal, but mine own.

It's pretty much what I did last week, and I can tell you, it was fantastic. ;D
