Dang, it's *amazing* what 15 minutes can do. I took a look at the junk drawer. Listing everything in it (no pictures, sorry) would take longer than it took to organize. Suffice it to say that I pulled everything out, threw several things away (plastic measuring spoons with the painted numbers coming off, a rusty loaf pan), put others where they will be remembered and used (spatulas with the other ones, spreaders in the tool crock), put a couple things in purgatory (the Pampered Chef roller), etc.

What's left, now in a drawer with extra room that opens and closes easily. It contains:

Pampered Chef cookie press (which had been on floor of library)
Candy and regular thermometer
BBQ tongs and basting brush
pizza cutter
garlic press (Pampered Chef, natch)
cake slicer
1/2 dozen of those plastic scrapers you get with PC stoneware
the veggie slicer
Pampered Chef large scoop
two metal molds for making circular fried eggs or silver dollar pancakes (oh, hush, they don't take much room!)
and a tea ball.

It's called concentration. And yeah, 15 minutes can make quite a difference. I use that with filing.

It's my egg-timer school of writing. I set the timer, start writing and usually keep writing after it goes off...

"It's in everybody's kitchen, it's in everybody's home,
It's a dirty little secret everyone can call their own.
In the cleanest of all houses, decked with shining, spotless floors,
There's a little bit of chaos: it's your kitchen junk drawer!"

Somebody wanted to get through it quick because I'd rather be online. :>

Actually - I loathe Flylady. The good advice she has is damped by the creepy evangelical vibe and my overwhelming opinion that anyone who hides the dirty dishes to car-wax the sink is mental.

A friend of mine got me to join up, and yes, there's a LOT of
evangelical crap going on - but I delete all that. And yeah, I
ignore the stuff abot the sink. Mostly, I'm taking solace from
the fact that I'm either not a failure, or that here's a LOT of
us running around....

I'm lucky - old kitchen. Small drawers.

Still, I'm *thrilled* to have yet another item off the library floor! Homekeeping is going to do wonders for me in that area, I can tell.
