House Stuff:
I've been putting off going to Home Depot to talk about new fence to replace the stretch that's falling down along my driveway. However, going to Home Depot is no longer optional, since the u-bend for the kitchen sink rusted through and failed catastrophically last night...

I've started redoing my bathroom as much as possible without actually ripping something out and really redoing it (although I reserve that option regarding the wallpaper). New shower curtain, new rug, and as soon as I have free time to sit down with the sewing & embroidery machines, "new" matching towels and curtains.

Book Stuff:
When last I counted the TBRs, I was below 390 - down from a high of 575, so I'm terribly pleased with myself! I've also gone on Amazon to cancel some orders, either for later books in a series where I haven't read the earlier books yet (at the rate I'm going I'll get there before the sequels go out of print, for once!) or for movies I have added to my Netflix queue. I feel nauseatingly virtuous.

Garden Stuff:
My bleeding hearts are in full bloom, and boy, are they incredible! The azaleas have also exploded into blossom and the lilly of the valley are springing up everywhere, but it's the bleeding hearts that I love the most. I note with interest that the newfangled hearts are looking a little peaked, while the old-fashioned plants are lush and full and loaded with blooms.

Scheduling Stuff (or, ARGH! Why is everything on the same weekend?):
Malice Domestic, which has a whole bunch of fascinating panels on all days and the Greek festival I haven't missed years are both next weekend. One's in Arlington, one's in Bethesda, and I live in College Park... three separate cities divided by one overloaded Beltway under construction and no Metro access. Grr, argh!

Bunch o' random questions:
Does anyone know how to make check boxes and drop down lists in Access? Help is not being helpful.

Does anyone know what paint/enamel is good for using on tile, porcelain, and/or mirrors? I'd like to jazz up bits of the bathroom with stencils, namely the sink, backsplash, and mirror corners.

It's still kind of cold in the Adirondacks for serious gardening. We only have a few crocuses and some daff sprouts. The nights are still too close to freezing for much else. But I did plant the early seeds in the vegetable garden, the snow peas and onion starts, that sort of thing.

On the newfangled bleeding hearts...usually when they inbreed plants to get the newfangled fancy stuff, the new plants are more delicate and picky about their surroundings. That's especially an issue up in the Adirondacks where the situations are always less than ideal. I tend to go for the old standard stock because nothing works the way it's supposed to.
