It used to be that every time I traveled, I took too many books. For a single day at home I have brought too many books to read, too many to review, too much yarn to knit, and too many DVDs to watch. Oh, and the draft to my story. Naturally, I have done nothing with any of it so far. Well, I've done a little reading about Catherine Howard, which is arguably story-related, but *not* having brought too many reference materials, most of what I need for that is back at home in MD.

Dad is pretty perky when he's awake, but he's not awake all that often; he's still sleeping off everything he's been through. This is making caretaking a snap; as he is either asleep or puttering around on his own happily. Recovery continues apace. Mother is off to see Turnadot with the rest of the church group, leaving behind her thanks and instructions that I must cook the pork at some point today.

I was unpleasantly surprised to discover that although I had my arm braced tightly, driving brought on a rather bad bout of tendonitis. Every time I think I'm getting better I get a reminder like that. I'm starting to worry a bit about the drive to Media*West. I'm going to be really upset if I not only can't knit, but can barely carry things with my right arm at M*W!

A thought: rather than try to carry things on a bad arm (and yes, I've been there), how about getting an inexpensive version of one of those little suitcases on wheels that I see airline pilots and stews bringing with them? Not large, backpack size on wheels, but you don't have to carry it.

I always associate M*W with weight because I always bought tons of zines... maybe with an online fandom and having caught up with most of the DWMs, I won't be getting so much to carry at once.

...and maybe pigs will fly...

I am packing in the big mauve 4-wheeled beast I bought in London. A suitcase that never needs to be lifted or dragged? Best extravagance yet!

What sorts of fibers do you work with in your knitting? See,-- There was the Alpaca show in town this weekend, and I went through to see my sister - (Alpacas at Windy Hill) and there were some merchants with LOVELY pure Alpaca and blended yarns....

OK- I'l stop torturing you... >:D

Anything but acrylic and wool, basically. The two current projects, whenever I can do more than a row on them, are cotton/silk svale and handpainted mercerized cotton.

Am putting a lot of effort into not ending up with a yarn stash the way I had a fabric stash, and so am immune to yarn pimping!
