You almost made it through without hearing from me today...

But then someone in one of the comms just had to stand up and confuse the First Amendment's freedom of speech with the ability to piss in the pool of public communication.

For the last time, class, the First Amendment gives you the right (among other things) to speak/write/publish without being prosecuted by the Federal Government - provided that you are not committing libel, slander, incitement, sedition, plagerism, or obscenity along the way. It does not mean that anyone ELSE has to give you a platform to say diddly, nor a willing ear to hear what you have to say. Your rights do not outweigh the rights of other members of a group... particularly when there are enough of them to outvote you. (Damn that democracy!)

In short, the US Constitution does not grant the Madison-given right to be an asshole without reprisal.
