I haven't even seen 42 yet, and the postscript fanfic is half written in my head. More like 2/3. At this rate, the whole thing's going to be written before I ever see the episode!

"You human doctors," the Doctor scoffed wearily. "Always poking at me and never understanding what's right in front of you. Last one was a woman too. Grace. *She* killed me."

"I know just how she felt," Martha said calmly, and shoved his head under the water. He squirmed a bit, but it frightened her how little he tried to fight back.

Nope. It's a little more generic than that - generic enough that I'm thinking of going ahead with the story because if the opening is jossed by 42, the rest of the character sketch would fit as a codicil to just about any adventure, including an off-screen one.

Still, the idea has someone intrigued, which is enough to encourage me to go on and write it.

I have to admit when I saw the first part of the first line, I thought your age. Then I saw it was Doctor Who.

Drowning him like a rat! No, not really. I've just got this little fic in my head that started porny and has mutated into this faintly melancholy character sketch what is quite clean (especially since it mostly happens in a bathtub).

I haven't a clue what 42 is about and I want it to stay that way until I see it... so I just hope your snippet isn't spoilery in any way :/

Cross my heart, not a THING to do with the plot of 42 or any dialog. I was saying in another comment that it could be a generic scene after several adventures.
