Let me be the billionth person on your flist to link to Baby Water Buffalo and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

If Disney showed that, people would bitch about how unrealistic and Hollywood they're being.

I can just imagine the lions' POV:
"Whoo HOO! Soup's on!"
"Aw, damn, who invited him? Bugger off, dude!"
"That's not... aw, SHIT!"

What's sad is that I started watching and immediately went, "Wait, that's a cape buffalo, not a water buffalo!" Too many years vidding with a group that has animal totems and a member whose totem is the Water Buffalo.

(Mine? Is the gnat. ;)

gnat? how did that happen?

The "@" symbol was my trademark from the beginning of my 'net life, so I picked it for my HC symbol even though I didn't know what it represented. It got connected to the Gnat when Celli and I were wandering around a Rite-Aid and I kept changing topics and directions at a dizzying rate. (My therapist has suggested that I have ADD. I think... she's not wrong.)

Plus there's the whole "freakishly short" thing. :)

well, I hardly think you qualify as "freakishly" short.

Which for all the wrong reasons, reminds me - someone has shown or made sure that La Merc has seen the "Attack of the Righteous Buffalo Upon the Ill-Advised Lions" haven't they?

What makes the difference? Horns, size?

Horns. The water buffalo has two separate horns on either side of its head, while the cape buffalo has sort of a horns-and-hard-hat one-unit piece.

There are probably more profound differences, but that's what I remember and can spot.

Isn't that just astonishing vid? With the commentary (the disbelief at what they're seeing) it's kind of like being there. I was breathless watching it.

I was watching with the sound off at work and I was still staggered.

I'm still not sure who I was rooting for (NOT the crocs....poor crocs).

(I will admit to thinking, at the end, "hey, lion pride! There are tourists on the other side of the water, probably nicely marbled!")

Wow, that was so cool. Thanks for sharing! You're the first person in my flist to list it.

Actually, I'm not sure if that statement is quite accurate. You're the first person in my flist as I'm reading to link to it, but as I read my flist backwards in spurts, it could be that someone else linked to it first... but you get the red ribbon in my book! :)
