Before we begin bentoing, something for the wordphiles: the Omnificent English Dictionary In Limerick Form.
The first three lunches this week:
#1
Large container - brussel sprout and pork meatball cassarole
Soup container - grapes
Medium container - cherries
Small container - double portion tapioca (as am not sure if I'm going to like the pork enough to eat it all; new recipe) ETA: No, I didn't. Ugh.
#2
Large container - African stew
Soup container - cucumber salad. (I get this at the amish market - it's very tangy, almost like a relish, which will be a nice balance for the thick, earthy soup.)
Medium container - cherries
Small container - chocolate pudding
#3
Don't know how I'm going to divvy this up yet, but it's going to include:
smoked salmon cream cheese or devilled ham in mini phyllo tart shells
individual babybell cheese
applesauce cup*
grapes
pineapple
roast asperagus
*Not only do I like applesauce, but the Mr. Bento*cough* site showed how the individual cups could be washed up and used as an internal divider. And I like that idea better than specially buying a cute silicon cup (although I'll have to do that to make the individual frittata sometime).
I have chicken and pineapple I have to use up - I think I'm going to get some catalina dressing and boil some multigrain pasta and call it a salad.
