As you're nearly there at finishing the Knitalong, and crossing my fingers that you can finish it in May, what is the Kitalong going to be? I'm picturing a blanket-type thing, as you're talking blocks, but that's about it.

It's an afghan. I'm working primarily on afghans because I can do them in nice portable, countable blocks. (And because I used to quilt and I'm really just doing the same things with a different fabric.)

I've reached my conclusion (based on my progress on the knitalong afghan, as compared to how I poop out after a couple of months whenever I try to crank out a sweater) that once I get my afghan done I need to start up a sweater on the same "a few rows a day, weekends only" basis. Because if it takes me ten months or a year to finish, at least I won't feel guilty about it if it's planned to take that long to do, and if I'm still chipping away at it week by week.

A little bit on a regular basis is amazingly helpful in getting things done.

A little each day or at least each week, which is why I have my quota system for the projects I'm most focused on completing and why I have the weekly photos to check on how much progress I have or haven't made on which items. Sweaters turn out to be just a little more work than I can maintain enthusiasm in for the full stretch -- though I think a lot of it also has to do with not having time to work on them till I get the Xmas knitting out of the way, and then running out of sweater weather before I'm done and deciding to backburner it if I can't wear it for another eight or nine months anyway... (Because I don't recall this issue with lace shawls and stoles that required the same amount of actual knitting time -- but I didn't have the can't-wear-for-months issue on the first, and the second and third were Xmas gifts with recipients and a deadline. And the Peacock shawl wasn't a ran-out-of-interest issue but rather a ran-into-Xmas-knitting-season issue.)

I recently picked up and read Charlene Harris' 1st Aurora Teagarden book, "Real Murders" -- are you familiar with these? I found it a light and enjoyable read that didn't require a lot of paying attention and was certainly surprising at the end...

I keep saying that I'm going to start knitting again; but so far all I've managed is to locate a box full of yarn balls, no needles. I KNOW I have needles, I refuse to buy more just because I can't find the ones I've got!

Note to Self: Remember to turn on the SciFi channel Friday night for SJA!!!
