Apparently the reason I haven't been able to finish my Martha fanmix is because I had not yet discovered Jordan Sparks' "Tattoo" or Idina Menzel's "I Stand" album.

I ask you, are these not perfect?

Tattoo:
Admit that I'm wrong
And change my mind
Sorry but I've got to be strong
And leave you behind
...Don't look back I got a new direction

Better to Have Loved
I knew all the time I was taking a chance
When I stand there on the edge of the cliff and no one was holding my hand
Well the wind blew strong and the clouds rolled in and I, I felt us lift off the ground
Yes I bared my soul and I dared to go knowing one day you might let me down

Better to have loved than never loved at all
Better to have dreamed than never taken the fall
Better to have loved you and let you in than never to have touched your skin
Better to have hurt and screamed and cried
Fall into the earth for a trip to the sky

Don't Let Me Down:
Don't let me down
Don't let them see
These shadows fallen over me
Where do you go?
When you're awake and in your head?
Why do they know you?
Is your story painted in red?

And if time stood still
If I can't be my teacher
No one ever will

Brave:
All along, all I ever wanted was to be the light
When your life was daunting but I can't see mine,
And I feel as though you're pushing me away.
...
If this is the moment I stand here on my own,
If this is right of passage that somehow leads me home,
I might be afraid but it's my turn to be brave.
If this is the last chance before we say goodbye,
At least it's the first day of the rest of my life,
I can't be afraid 'cause it's my turn to be brave.

I seem to be finding 1000 songs for the moment she tells him she's leaving.

Other songs will be ABBA's "Take a Chance on Me," "Have You Met Miss Jones," "and the Barenaked Ladies "As You Like It" CD, which may be the wrong play for Shakespeare Code, but dude! Barenaked Ladies doing Shakespeare!

Cross your fingers - Amazon.co.uk has shipped my latest audiobook order, and I'm hoping it will get here in time for me to have it for listening on the trip to M*W.

I've been feeling very guilty for it taking this long, having done the Sarah Jane and Rose mixes ages ago. And now I should be collecting for the Donna one, although it does seem that I won't be able to pick the right mix of songs until I can do so in retrospect.

I like to pepper mine with dialog... do you know if the BBC downloadable soundbites include Martha saying "So this is me, walking away."?

Bugger. I'm going to have to look at the assorted clips I have and see what I'm going to ask the f-list to see if they can provide. It would be very handy to have "he can't see me" and "This is me, walking out."

I'm also wondering if I should be doing the fanmixes by season or companion arc. It was easy to do Sarah Jane's, shifting into her own show, and Rose got a CD per season. But with Martha and Donna overlapping, I'm not sure if I should continue with Martha Part II or do S3 and S4 mixes.

Ooo. I need to pop in one of the Torchwood CDs and pull the theme music for Martha if she's getting a CD of her own. Which is my preference.

I used Martha's Theme (from the S3 OTS CD) on my Martha/Harry fanmix - let me know if you want it...

I've just checked the BBC's site and they don't have that many lines from Martha on there...

No, they don't, which is why I'm going to have to throw myself on the mercy of the fans.

But thank you for the offer - I have the two CDs, so I have Martha's theme. Which reminds me, I need to add the UNIT theme to her mix as well.

Cool...

Yes - I was listening to the UNIT theme whilst I was writing my "Martha meets the Brig" fic the night before last...

And I'm thinking of doing a second Martha/Harry mix to go with the second full length story in that series, and may add the UNIT theme. (I had way more tracks than I could use for the first mix, so a second one seems somehow inevitable !)

Ten says "All the world's a stage," and AYLI was probably written in 1599, so I think you're perfectly justified in using the BNL.

(Wow. When geekdoms collide. Back to my corner I go.)
