Knitting:
I have given up and asked for an invite to Ravelry, because so many pattern links led there. I don't expect to spend much time there, though, because I don't have the time to spend.
I am also trying to decide the best cable length to get for cable needles for knitting shawls. 60" seems a bit long to carry around, but that would be about the width of the shawl, and also is good for blankets. I don't know if I could get away with a 40" cable for a fingertip-to-fingertip shawl.
Am also pondering the possibilities of designing a garter lace tudor rose pattern.
Fandom:
Keeping this vague... I have just discovered that a con I wouldn't miss for the world has invited a guest I wouldn't spit on if they were on fire. Such is the way of things; I suppose I should budget extra money so I can spend one guest talk in the dealer's room each day, out of wank's way. Or perhaps spend it in a panel.
Speaking of which, I've just suggested a panel for ChicagoTARDIS, because IIRC, they're going to have a handful of Short Trips authors on hand and the Big Finish people are already guests. It would be really nifty to have a tie-in author/publisher panel. I'm not sure if I've made this suggestion to the right person, though.
I can tell I'm exhausted... I'm not running in circles squeeing over the spoilers that have one corner of fandom having multiple fangasms. And it's such fabulous news, too!

Date: 2008-07-09 11:35 pm (UTC)It would be a good panel, don't you think? Both sides of the story.

Forgive me stupidity -- when is Chicago TARDIS, again?
(alas, my older sister no longer resides in a Chicago suburb, so I no longer have access to free crash space)

Date: 2008-07-10 10:12 am (UTC)They've being completely schizophrenic in New Who: in the main show, UNIT is bad, but in the SJA, it's the same old heroes of yore. I'd like it if they manage to deal with *that* issue at some point.

It's where I found out how many beads it takes to bead a Clapotis in a certain way. So that's how many I strung on. *grin*
