I totally feel this way about the Summer Olympics.

By the way, the Ravelympics scarf knitting pattern? Odd stitches knit in K2, P1? First, it's surprisingly hypnotic. I'm going to try to knit to waltz tunes. Second, it doesn't curl, but it does ripple like a Ruffles potato chip. Intriguing in a scarf; I'm thinking it would make for a really warm winter blanket too, because it will trap in air.

My other reaction is to grip my hands horrifically hard every time
some little girl* gets up on the beam or unevens, because I just

I'm sure there was a little 14 year old laddy from my county who competed in the synchronized diving . . . Sadly he was more able to remain focused that his 26 year old teammate who messed up their chances by being on his mobile phone all the time.
