Down and Safe

Arrived yesterday, was picked up by jennetj and taken to momthemerciless' for a Thanksgiving dinner that couldn't be beat, and am doing a quick email check (no time to go through back LJ; hit me in comments if there's something I need to know) before registration opens. A lot of the panels I suggested are on today and I'm in most of them, although I'm going to be late for one because I've decided to get Lis' autograph today and listen to Colin tomorrow (all three days, her signing is up against his speech.) It's not so much I want the autograph - well, I do, but more than that, I want to be across the table from her saying in person up close how much it means to have "a woman of a certain age" be a sexy, scientific (well, skientific) action heroine.

How I'm getting Colin's autographs I don't know, as all of my panels are against his signings, but lining up early and running fast remain options throughout the weekend. I'm going to do a test walk of the area to see the space between panel rooms; doesn't look too prohibitive for a short white rabbit-style sprint.

See you there! I'm judging the masq, but otherwise have no specific plans. Someday I'll find a happy medium between "wander aimlessly around the con" and "sign up for too many panels that end up making me miss things." But this weekend is definitely the former.
