First, for people who aren't interested in knitting or polls, the most fabulous of fabulous dancing groups, The Twelve Gays of Christmas, courtesy
nycdeb.
Second, I've been asked about wishlists and whatnot, and I've been wondering... is it rude or is it a great idea to simply say "if you wanted to get me a token gift for Christmas, how about one or two skeins of Yarn X"? The yarn I'm thinking of is inexpensive - hank plus postage should be in the $6-$7 range, and many knitters may have a skein lying around already and been wondering whatin hell they had in mind when they bought fuschia anyway to do with it.
The idea is, no other stipulations except that specific yarn (although if you want to toss in instructions for an up-to-four-row stitch, that would be cool) and it's up to me to Do Something with whatever results.Although please no fuschia because I've got nine bloody skeins of *that* already!
Good idea/bad idea?
