If you're not listening to the Staggering Stories podcast, I particularly recommend this week's episode: Staggering Podcast #41: A Ghost, a Werewolf, a Vampire and Tom Baker.... And not just because they shout-out me. It's one of the funniest episodes of a very funny show. As much stuff about Being Human as Doctor Who, and mentions of several other fandoms, esp. Firefly.

Also, via calliopes_pen, the supposedly 10 Annoying Habits of A Geeky Spouse... except that none of this is annoying and all geeks do it. Heck, any hobbyist, regardless of hobby, does #5, 6, & 10.


And speaking of other hobbies, Hank's Yarn has a free pattern for a textured afghan, new blocks being posted monthly. The previous year's scarf patterns are also available, although arachnaphobes probably won't want to click.

I'm currently very receptive to portable projects and am feeling a bit burdened by my stash, so the afghan just appeals. Having said that, though, I've been eyeing my copy of Barbara Walker's Learn to Knit Afghan Book and thinking about sending myself back to knitting school...

Afghan blocks are an excellent travel project. Ditto scarves, or scarves that will be sewn together into an afghan.
