The Daily Fail

Phear the wooden boobies! Priest curses statue that he considers risque. (I'm straight enough to think she has a lovely face. Okay, and a balcony you could do Shakespeare off of.)
It's the return of Lady Sybill! In an interview for a Brazilian website, she finally shows a dim grasp of reality regarding her Twilight ripoff. To wit: I realized I’d never get away with selling it, so I gave refunds to all the Ebay buyers... no attorney will defend me if I decide to publish.
On the other hand, the LOLs are still coming. This isn't mere fanfic after all, because I believe I have more training and education than the average fanfic writer, so that’s the only reason I wanted to release it as a book. Anybody have a couple of hours so I can list all the "average fanfic writers" who turned pro, especially the ones who write licensed tie-in books? Tie-ins *from the same universe* even?
And her grasp of copyright is still just as entertaining as it was when she started: the whole issue with the fans is they have been shown a way they never knew about, why can’t fans make money off the universe they feed?
Maybe because it's legally and morally the same as making money by selling the contents of the purse you just stole?

not too far from Centralia
Date: 2009-04-09 01:48 am (UTC)Dude, I see real life boobies like that EVERY DAY because the beach is 2 blocks away.

Or just search "female pirate statue" on google images and click on the picture that looks like her.
Personally, I want to use the image for LJ or facebook.

Date: 2009-04-09 09:33 am (UTC)I remain aghast at Lady Sybilla. It's a classic, isn't it? 'But I'm so different from all those others. I'm entitled!' Hand me pirate lady's gun, someone.

Date: 2009-04-09 03:20 pm (UTC)Ah, I think I see where the disconnect was. I consider most Christian prayer to be as much magic as any pagan ritual. Therefore, malicious prayer (which includes curses) is black magic.

She's a very very special snowflake. As in the short bus definition of "special."

Date: 2009-04-09 07:54 am (UTC)Umm, doesn't she realise there is perhaps not a single current Doctor Who writer (on the show and the novels) who didn't start in fanfic?
I really hope this doesn't cause foolish younger writers to think they can attempt to make money from fanfic. Or maybe even at my young age I'm already part of an older generation who just looks at this and sees it for the fail it is.
