They've developed personalities now, and have official names.

He is brave, curious, friendly... but not real bright. He's Cat Mulder.

She is dominating, curious, determined, and very, very interested in food. She's totally a Gytha.

They're wearing old ferret harnesses. They're completely the wrong shape for ferret harnesses and at one point Mulder was walking around with that mousie under his chin, stuck to the velcro. But it's awfully handy to be able to track them by the bells.

Pterry picked up the name Gytha from a fan called Gytha North - who was a well known Viking, filker, and witch. Drinking, singing, and dancing on tables was not an entirely co-incidental characteristic of both, though there was no physical resemblance. It is an Anglo-Saxon name - one of the daughters of Harold Godwinson was called Gytha.

(She pronounced the name Gee-tha, unlike the TV and radio adaptions of Pterry's work, which pronounce it Gi-tha.)

Gytha N died a few years back. I think we all still miss her over here.
