Am bored. Am thinking of losing weight. So, of course, am surfing christmas cookie recipes.
I was handwriting the recipes when I realized they were getting awfully familiar. So here is
UR COOKIE PRESS COOKIE RECIPE
2/3 c sugar
1 c softened butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 c flour
between 1/4 & 1 1/2 tsp seasonings (see below)
Mix well.
Chill for 30-45 minutes.
Put in press. Press onto ungreased cookie sheet
Bake @ 400 for 6-8 minutes, until edges brown.
EGGNOG VARIANT: Add 1/4 tsp rum extract & 1 tsp ground nutmeg.
MINT CHIP VARIANT: Add 1/4 tsp mint extract & green food coloring. Put a hershey's kiss in the center of each cookie immediately after baking.
I intend to play around with variations and with assorted extracts (seems to me that they're using at least 2 1/4 tsp of flavored extracts, who says it predominately has to be vanilla?) and reporting back around Christmas time.
